In 2011, Matt moved to Brooklyn where he was an active community leader, serving on the executive committee of New Kings Democrats and as a budget delegate in District 39’s Participatory Budgeting Education Committee.
Since moving to New Rochelle in 2020, Matt has quickly become involved, serving as a district leader in the New Rochelle Democratic Committee and a founding board member of the Ward Acres Conservancy. After Hurricane Ida, Matt organized with his neighbors for flood mitigation efforts. He lives in the Pinebrook neighborhood with his wife, Madeline, and their two children, Eloise and Asher, and is a member of Temple Israel. In his spare time, Matt loves reading, indie music, and exploring new hobbies, like gardening and woodworking.
